Nero StartSmart has an interesting photo editing feature, including a few extreme manipulation options (more for creative photo editing). There’s a free version.

I also use CAMEDIA Master (the software that came with my Olympus Digital Camera), which is available independently.

serif photo plus 6.0 and the gimp 2 as of current

compared to adobe they are pretty no very featuristic for something that’s free vs paying $300 and up

Try Photo Impact 8. It is pretty good. You can change the colors of pictures, remove red eye, it has an eye dropper, and pretty much everything that top of the line photo editors have. It is affordable compared to others which cost about $100. This is verry user friendly when it comes to digital cameras. You can do hundreds of things with this program. I use it all the time.

Try adobe photoshop elements, it just like photoshop, produced by adobe but cost a fraction of what Photoshop CS2 cost. It comes with all the photo editing features you will need.

Google’s Picassa is very good for simple things. If you need more then that, try GIMP (www.gimp.org)

They’re both free and both very good packages, but different. Picassa is very easy to use, GIMP will do anything you can imagine.
